Information for authors and review process
Manuscripts may be submitted in English, French or German. Articles are evaluated on their individual quality and relevance to the journal’s scope. Please read our submission guidelines carefully before submitting your article. The journal editors reserve the right to assess whether submitted manuscripts align with the journal's scope and to decline papers for peer review if they fail to meet the journal's scientific standards.
All manuscripts considered for publication in the Swiss Journal of Sociology (SJS) undergo a rigorous double-blind review process. Submitted manuscripts are first assessed for their alignment with SJS’s aims and scope by the journal editors. Once accepted for review, each manuscript is reviewed by at least two national or international experts with thematic and methodological expertise relevant to the research field of the article. The current rejection rate of SJS stands at 65 percent.
Accepted articles will be published Online First before they appear in a journal issue. Fully citable and complete with a DOI, Online First publication ensures that the latest research is made available as swiftly as possible.
