Based on a representative survey of the Swiss working population, we show which groups propose which measures to achieve equal pay. Descriptive, content and discourse analyses reveal that people have clear ideas about reducing wage inequality and often support far-reaching measures. Opponents of equal pay policies are rare and are more likely to be men with medium levels of education and higher management positions.
