Aims and scope

In line with its self-understanding as a multi-lingual medium of Swiss sociology, the Swiss Journal of Sociology (SJS) encourages contributions from all areas of sociological research integrating analytical theories with rigorous empirical analysis. It neither favors nor excludes any theoretical or methodological perspective and aims to promote communication between different perspectives. It publishes work on theory, methods, practice of sociology and discusses any kind of social, political, or cultural phenomenon that is relevant for understanding the dynamics of societies. Articles published in SJS can be relevant for Swiss sociology in different ways and they can, but do not have to, engage with Swiss institutions or regions.
